Hydroscand AB was established in a small cellar in Örby, a suburb of Stockholm, on the 19 September 1969. In the mid seventies, we began to establish branches in Sweden, when we acquired a small company in Linköping.
During the seventies, we outlined the company policy that our activities should be concentrated to selling and distributing hose and fluid connectors from a decentralized organization.
This policy is still in force.
During the following decades, the Swedish organization expanded by both starting our own branches and by acquiring collaboration partners, which now total to more than 40 branches.
Business started in Norway in 1976, when we acquired a small company. It has now grown to comprise 17 branches located throughout Norway.
In 1994, the idea of setting up a separate company for developing our programme of hose assembly machinery was born. It grew to be Europe's leading company in its niche. Distribution and service of Finnpower presses was transferred to Maskinbolaget at the same time. We have been Finnpower's agents in Sweden and Norway ever since Finnpower was founded.
We started activities in Finland in 1997. After this, things have developed rapidly, and we now have five branches there.
The year 2000 was an exciting year: we opened our doors in Estonia, which currently has ten branches. We also acquired a majority of the shares in our distributor in the Skåne province, Slang och Maskin AB, which now has five branches that distribute Hydroscand's products.
The same year, we also acquired the majority of the shares in Glogar GmbH, Austria, which has enjoyed rapid growth since, opening two branches in Austria, and starting companies in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania.
In 2001, we started operations in Roskilde, Denmark.
In 2002, we acquired a company in Great Britain and opened two depots in Gloucester and Redruth. We also bought a hydraulic pipe bending plant in Ängelholm, in southern Sweden, in order to give our customers there the same service as we do from Hudiksvall in north of Sweden and from Turku in Finland.
In year 2003 we opened up in Latvia and built a new head office for the Baltic States in Tallinn.
In 2006, we acquired a company in St Petersbourg, Russia.
Today Hydroscand is established in 14 countries all over Europe, with more than 120 branches with a turnover at more than 140 mill. euros. Hydroscand is the leader of its line of business in europe with the same vision as always, "to be were the costomers are"
